In the final weeks before our galleries open to the Tufts community and to the public, we’re installing two our upcoming exhibitions that center Indigenous voices, artists, and practices. Join us next month for an exciting new season! In Medford, Véxoa: We Know (Nós sabemos) features Indigenous Brazilian artists and collectives informed by the role of art as a tool for activism, and in Boston, enrolled member of the Aquinnah Wampanoag, Elizabeth James-Perry’s solo show Double Arrows presents the work of a community of makers that underscores the human interdependencies with the natural world. Join us on September 13th for a toast and tour of Double Arrows, and join us on September 20th for a reception and discussion with artists featured in Véxoa: We Know (Nos Sabemos). All exhibitions are on public view beginning September 5, 2023. |

This month has seen exciting changes around our Medford and Fenway locations in preparation for the fall season! Earlier in August, we installed our new billboard at SMFA at Tufts, a digital print of a watercolor painting, “Milkweed Warriors,” from Elizabeth James-Perry (Aquinnah Wampanoag). Coming soon to TUAG Medford is Denilson Baniwa’s mural. Baniwa is an exhibiting artist in Véxoa: We Know (Nos sabemos). |
