Violence Transformed: Stand Together
About the Exhibition
Date
Sep 29 – Nov 4, 2018Location
Slater Concourse GalleryViolence Transformed celebrates the power of art, artists, and artmaking to address, confront, and indeed transform violence. This exhibit brings together faculty, alumni, and students of SMFA at Tufts who have partnered with one another to create works that demonstrate the power of art and artistic mentorship to foster social awareness, social justice and social change.
“Stand Together” highlights that challenge and sheds light on the violence, bigotry, and social injustice that seems at times to permeate our current social order and that bring to the forefront shared visions of a tolerant, diverse, just and non-violent world. These include both collaborative works created by a single pair of artists and separate but paired works that have been created by artists to speak to one another.
