Workshop: Forming Home, a Comida Casera workshop with Evelyn Rydz

Join artist Evelyn Rydz, MFA ’05, for a community conversation and collective art-making workshop centered on ancestral foods, cooking, health, home, and belonging. Together, we will experiment with spices, inks, drawing, and printmaking to create a series of images inspired by the people, places, and foods that form our connection to home. Participants will have the opportunity to create in community, exchange prints with guests around the table, share stories from home, and discuss past, present, and future relationships with local and global food sources.

Evelyn Rydz works in drawing, photography, site-responsive installations, and participatory community projects. Her interdisciplinary practice focuses on the vulnerability and resiliency of natural and cultural ecosystems, and ways they shape our connections to care, community, and multiple perspectives of home, from local to global. Rydz received an MFA from SMFA at Tufts University and is currently a Professor at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
