We are excited to share with you our fall 2022 exhibitions and programs! In Medford, The Sun Rises in the West and Sets in the East, explores social and cultural seismic shifts and how the traditional culture and classification of science, philosophy, biology, and economics have collapsed and fallen into an arbitrary disorder in contemporary society, through the work of 11 contemporary artists who challenge geopolitical narratives, value systems, and power dynamics. At the SMFA/Boston, we will open Backed up into Dawn, an exhibition surveying the work of Puerto Rican-born, Oakland-based conceptual interdisciplinary artist Sofía Córdova, whose performance, music, video, photography, sculpture and installation works highlight her engagements with climate capitalism and its entanglement with colonial erasure. In the Resources section below, you can learn more and explore selections of images, key questions, and curricular connections. |
