TUAG is building a Student Advisory Board in order to incorporate student voices into Galleries affairs and to make resources more available and relevant to the student body. It's open to all students, no art history or museum experience necessary.
As part of the initial formation process, we're inviting all students to participate in a survey to offer feedback that help will inform TUAG and Board goals. Survey participants can be entered to win one of eight $25 giftcards.
If you're interested in learning more about this initiative, reach out to email@example.com and tell us a little about you.
Student Board Member Details
Members of the Student Advisory Board will be expected to attend (virtual) meetings weekly and complete ~4 hours/month of work outside of the weekly meetings for a total of approximately 8 hours/month during the academic year. Board members will be compensated with a stipend of $300 per semester.
Open to all class years of BA/BS, BFA, and dual-degree students. No art history or museum experience necessary. All majors are encouraged to apply — we are seeking diverse perspectives and experiences.
During Fall 2020, the Student Advisory Board will learn about the Galleries and develop relationships with TUAG staff, articulate the group’s priorities (perhaps drafting a mission statement and leadership structures), and plan a virtual event for the student body. As the group takes shape, future semesters could offer further event planning, collaborations with student groups at other academic art museums, collaborations with other student groups on campus, content creation (social media, tour/educational materials, zines, etc.), participating in TUAG-related committees (Gifts of Art and Public Art Committees), inserting student voices in general gallery affairs, professional development, field trips, and engagement with broader conversations about the role of the academic museum right now.
