Collection Mission and Policy
The mission of the Tufts University permanent art collection is to enhance and enliven the quality of Tufts' visual environment and support the educational mission of the University by encouraging direct and daily contact with original works of art through the publicly sited, outdoor Permanent Art Collection and the intra-university Circulating Art Program. The Tufts University Art Gallery is the principle steward of Tufts University's permanent art collection, totaling approximately 2,000 works of art. Works of art are accessioned to the Collection through the Gifts of Art Committee, chaired by the Director and Chief Curator. For more information about the University's art collection management policies, please contact Laura McDonald.
