Tanja Softić: Migrant Universe

January 30 – April 27, 2014
Koppelman Gallery and Remis Sculpture Court

A series of ten large works on paper by Bosnian-born, Virginia-based artist Tanja Softić addressing migration as both a social and a natural phenomenon. These large-scale, unique works are made out of acrylic, charcoal, chalk, and graphite on Japanese paper, gessoed and sanded, and stained with pigment and acrylic, mounted on door-like structures. Organized by the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, College of Charleston, SC, an accompanying brochure is available.
