Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey's original mural located outside the Jumbo Express at the Tufts University Campus Center

August 2009

Shepard Fairey reinstated the mural in its original location outside the Jumbo Express convenience store at the Tufts University campus center.

You may recognize Shepard Fairey as the artist of the Obama poster that helped galvanize the then-candidate's campaign.

Tufts' Institute for Global Leaderships 24th Annual EPIIC International Symposium on Global Cities is very proud to have worked with Shepard Fairey in conjunction with his exhibition Supply & Demand at The Institute for Contemporary Art. As the ICA states on their website: "Shepard Fairey has been creating art on the street for 20 years — it is one of the cornerstones of his artistic practice.

In complement to the exhibition, Fairey has created several outdoor projects throughout Boston and Cambridge." Tufts is one of sixteen sites throughout the Boston area where the artist installed murals in conjunction with his exhibition. See map of the other locations.
